Embassy of Kuwait in India celebrates the "64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait"
Embassy of the State of Kuwait in India hosted a reception to celebrate the 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait on February 24, 2025, in the Leela Palace Hotel, New Delhi. The event saw participation from H.E. Shri. Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Hon'ble Minister for Civil Aviation, Republic of India, as the Chief Guest, senior officials, diplomats, academics, business leaders and public figures.
Welcoming the guests to the event, H.E. Mr. Meshal Mustafa Al-Shemali, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to India, extended his warmest congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, the esteemed government, and the people of Kuwait.
In his message on this glorious occasion, H.E. Mr. Al-Shemali said, that since gaining independence in 1961, Kuwait has made tremendous strides in various sectors, under the visionary guidance of our leadership, ensuring a prosperous future, while upholding the values of peace, cooperation, and diplomacy.
H.E. highlighted the deep-rooted and historic bilateral relations between Kuwait and India, which have spanned several decades, and built on a foundation of mutual respect, shared valucs, and a long history of trade, cultural exchange, and diplomatic engagement.
H.E. also noted that the recent historic visit of His Excellency Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the Friendly Republic of India, to the State of Kuwait, during the period from December 21-22, 2024, marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the State of Kuwait in 43 years, during which both the countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership and signed four Memorandum of Understandings in the fields of defence cooperation, cultural exchange, sports collaboration, and Kuwait's inclusion in the International Solar Alliance. He reaffirmed that this visit will consolidate partnerships in existing areas such as energy, trade and food security, and explore new avenues for collaboration in defence and investment, while reinforcing shared values, and building a stronger partnership in future.
On the occasion, the embassy received several congratulatory messages from various Indian government agencies and members of the diplomatic corps in New Delhi.
Kuwait National Day is celebrated on February 25 each year. This holiday marks the day when His Highness the first Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah ascended to the throne in 1950.
